I joined Slack in the midst of a major rebrand. Part of my role was to expand on the evolving system and determine how it applied to various standard communications. The mediums I was tasked with exploring included the blog, social media, digital content, video, and email.

 

‘How Business Works’ - customer quote video

Slack wanted a way to showcase their latest customer base and reviews. Quotes were woven together with kinetic typography and motion graphics to introduce the brand’s new positioning: "How business works." The internal team collaborated with the incredible folks at BNS to bring this video to life. Leadership loved it so much, they used it as the introduction to their keynote at this year’s Dreamforce event.

I was tasked with modernizing the Slack blog, which felt overly playful for it’s new audience with its previous illustration style. My task was to bring cohesion to the thumbnails and corresponding social posts while embracing the new company design direction. Additionally, I developed guidelines to help maintain consistency among the different collaborating agencies creating content.
